1984 - George Orwell

author's note
I wrote this rather angry, and just sick of the repetitive days we live in.
Freedom? I wake up, get dressed then go to school. Everyday. I go to all my classes, pretty much the same thing everyday. I'm free though right? Free from Communism, but I'm still tied down to this institutionalized rut I have to follow everyday. This zombified lifestyle of being a brainless drone that does the same thing all the time. At least I have freedom of thought. So I can sit and just think about how I wish things could change. Or how I could change things and make them somewhat interesting, and not so tedious, not so dull everyday. If I act on these thoughts I have, they have large consequences. So freedom of thought is pointless to me, without being able to act on your thoughts. Freedom of speech, first amendment. I can say what I want, and voice my opinion yet at the same time be stuffed down, so that way no one can hear me. Or words I can't say in school because someone said so. I've gotten yelled at time after time for wearing a bracelet that says "I Heart Boobies" that supports the fight against breast cancer. It's sad that our population of school is thought that we are too immature to wear a simple bracelet. So freedom? Good joke.
